Admin dashboard
Your operation at a glance, with who is working right now, how the team is doing today, and the reports behind it.
The Admin dashboard opens with a time-of-day greeting (Good morning, Good afternoon, Good evening) under the heading Dashboard. Three tabs split the view: Live, Team, and Reports. It is designed so you can answer "is today under control?" in seconds, then dig in. If the data fails to load it says "Failed to load dashboard data." with a Retry button rather than a blank page.
Live
The Live tab answers "Who is working?" with the description "Live coverage, expected people, late arrivals, no-shows, breaks, and action state." Six counters sit on top:
- working (checked in right now)
- expected (scheduled to be working)
- late
- no-show
- done
- issues
Under the counters, the Live team table ("People first, with the next action visible") lists each row with Completed by, Status, Shift, Started, Ended, Duration, and Actions. A trailing action on each row reads Review, Monitor, or Open, and Open Schedule jumps to the calendar. When nothing is happening yet it says "No live shift activity yet."; a duration that cannot be computed shows a dash.
The status taxonomy
Every row and record uses the same canonical labels, so a situation reads identically on Live, in Reports, and inside a member's history. The full set:

| Started | Began but not yet underway fully. |
| Failed | Hit an error and needs attention. |
| Cancelled | Ended by the worker or an admin. |
| Missed | Scheduled but not checked in. |
| No-show | Never arrived for a scheduled shift. |
| Missed, expired | Assignment lapsed before the shift began. |
| Assignment expired | The member's assignment lapsed mid-shift. |
| Workflow inactive | The workflow was disabled during the shift. |
| Timed out | Hit the hard 48-hour limit. |
| Stalled | Closed after 24 hours of inactivity. |
| Incomplete | Started but required tasks were not finished. |
| Auto-closed | Closed by the system at the scheduled end. |
| Auto-closed, incomplete | Closed at the end with tasks left. |
| Auto-closed, no schedule | Rolled past the end of day. |
| Early departure | Clocked out before the scheduled end. |
| Absent | Did not show. |
| Late | Finished but after the window. |
| Present | On time. |
| Under review | Awaiting a check. |
| Exception | Something unusual; inspect the record. |
| Unknown | Fallback when the state cannot be read. |
Team
The Team tab looks across everyone, not just who is on the clock now. Three panels organize it:
- People today: today's scheduled people and their outcomes.
- Shift schedule: what is coming up.
- Needs attention: items that need an admin's eye.
The tab's metrics read Total members, Checked in today, Late today, Active users, Not checked in, Completed shift rate, Scheduled shifts, People to review, and Completion rate.
Reports
The Reports tab aggregates the operation into an Owner summary, Operational reports, and Detailed records. Its measures include:
- Payroll readiness: approved hours, compensation setup, and compliance proof before a run, with a "
{count}blockers" count when things are missing. - Coverage
- 14-day shift volume ("Completed and attempted shift records over the last 14 days.")
- Approved/completed records
- Late and no-show
- Live exceptions
- Activity rows (audit trail volume)
- Last refreshed timestamp and the Locale the data is rendered in.
Charts sit alongside: a Daily Activity count of shifts, an Activity Status distribution ("Shift records will appear after people start or complete shifts." when empty), and a time-range selector offering Last 24 hours, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 3 months, Last 6 months, Last year, and All time. A Recent Activity list ("No recent activity") with View all shifts rounds it out, plus an Attendance breakdown (Present / Late / Absent) and an Upcoming schedule card ("No schedules configured yet.").
Stat cards and attention strip
Top-level cards read Running Now, Present Today, Completed Today, and Success Rate (each "of {total}"). A live strip carries active, present, completed, and success. When shifts fail in the last hour, an attention line reads "{n} shifts failed in the last hour" with a View action.
Switching views
The top of the sidebar offers Admin Dashboard and User Dashboard. Use the switch to see exactly what a member sees, which is the fastest way to answer "why can't they see this?" without logging them in.
Everything on this dashboard is permission-aware. If a tab or action is missing, your role does not include that permission; ask an owner to check your role under Team Members.
