Quick Overview

Copilot is your Mako that can help you:

  • Answer questions about your organization
  • Invite team members
  • Manage QR codes
  • Update workflows
  • And much more

You can access it from the admin dashboard or the user dashboard (for frontline teams).

How to Use It

Starting a Conversation

  1. Open Mako from the menu
  2. Type your question or request
  3. Watch as Copilot thinks through the answer
  4. See what actions it wants to take
  5. Approve or reject each action

What You'll See

Thread sidebar:

  • All your past conversations
  • Rename threads to organize them
  • Favorite important threads
  • Delete old ones
  • Everything saves automatically, so you can pick up where you left off

Chat area:

  • Messages appear as Copilot types
  • See Copilot's thinking process (when available)
  • See what knowledge it's using (citations to documents)
  • See what actions it wants to take (list of functions)

Input box:

  • Type your questions or requests
  • Get suggestions for common tasks
  • Attach files if needed
  • Use slash commands for shortcuts

Tool Execution & Approvals

When Copilot wants to take action:

  • It shows you exactly what it wants to do
  • You see the action details (what organization, what parameters)
  • You can Approve or Reject each action
  • Approved actions execute immediately
  • Rejected actions help Copilot learn what you don't want

Actions tray:

  • See all actions Copilot has taken or wants to take
  • Review details for each one
  • Everything is logged for audits

Knowledge Integration

How Copilot knows things:

  • It searches your organization's knowledge base
  • It reads documentation you've uploaded
  • It checks workflows and settings
  • Citations show as badges you can click to see the source

Context panel:

  • See all the sources Copilot used
  • Documents, workflows, AI profile snippets
  • Know exactly where information came from

Teaching Copilot:

  • Say "remember that..." in a conversation
  • Copilot will save it as a memory (if allowed)
  • Use this to teach it organization-specific information

Real Situations

Messages stuck on "Thinking..."?
→ Your connection might have dropped. Refresh the page—the chat will resume where it left off.

Action approved but nothing happened?
→ Check for error messages. If the action failed, you'll see a message with details. Look for a trace ID if you need to contact support.

Missing knowledge citations?
→ Make sure relevant documents exist in AI Knowledge Management and that they've finished processing. You can also ask Mako to "/refresh knowledge" to reload everything.

Attachments won't upload?
→ Check file size (must be 10 MB or less). Large videos aren't supported. Also make sure your browser has permission to access files.

What Happens Next
