Attendance Check-in

Use facial recognition, QR codes, or geofences to record your time in Sharkforce.

How to Clock In

Pick the method your workplace uses. All three take 10-15 seconds.

🔹 Face: Security cameras at your desk or entry point
🔹 QR: Scan a code at a station (like a kiosk)
🔹 Map: Automatic when you arrive (GPS-based)

Quick Overview

Your manager sets up which check-in methods work for your organization. You might have one, two, or all three options. If one doesn't work (camera issues, QR code offline), try another—your time will still be recorded.

Face Recognition

When to use: Most common method. Works at your desk, entry point, or any place with a camera.

How to Do It

  1. Enroll first
Go to Settings → Face Enrollment and follow the steps. You only need to do this once (or if you make significant appearance changes like a major haircut, growing/shaving a beard, or changing glasses).

  2. Open check-in
Tap Attendance in the menu, then choose Face Recognition.

  3. Allow camera access
When prompted, allow the app to use your camera.

  4. Position yourself
Center your face in the frame. You'll see messages like "Preparing...", "Align face...", and "Capturing...".

  5. Wait for confirmation
Once it recognizes you, you'll see a success message and your check-in time is recorded.

What Happens Next

  • Your check-in time is saved immediately
  • You'll see a confirmation message
  • Your dashboard updates to show you're checked in
  • Your manager can see your check-in time

What You'll See During Check-in

The app shows you different messages as it processes:

  • "Preparing..." – Camera is initializing
  • "Align face..." – Position yourself in the frame
  • "Ready..." – Face is detected and positioned correctly
  • "Capturing..." – Taking your photo for verification
  • "Processing..." – Comparing your face to your enrolled profile
  • Success message – Check-in recorded with timestamp

Quality Requirements
For best results, the system needs:

  • Brightness: Your face should be well-lit (not too dark or too bright)
  • Sharpness: Image must be clear and in focus
  • Pose: Face should be straight-on (not tilted more than 25 degrees in any direction)
  • Confidence: Your manager sets the confidence level (Lenient 80%, Balanced 90%, or Strict 98%)

If you're having trouble, ask your manager what confidence level is set for your organization.

Real Situations

QR Code

When to use: Shared kiosks, visitor entrances, or rotating stations where a QR code is displayed.

How to Do It

  1. Open QR scanner
Tap Attendance in the menu, then choose QR Code (or tap "Other methods → QR").

  2. Allow camera access
When prompted, allow the app to use your camera.

  3. Aim at the code
Point your camera at the QR code. A frame will appear—keep the code inside it.

  4. Wait for scan
The app will automatically scan when the code is in focus. You might see the screen refresh briefly—that's normal.

  5. See confirmation
Once scanned, you'll see a success message and your check-in is recorded.

What Happens Next

  • Your check-in time is saved immediately
  • You'll see a confirmation message
  • Your dashboard updates to show you're checked in

Scanner Requirements
For best results:

  • Lighting: QR code should be well-lit and visible
  • Contrast: Code should have good contrast (not faded or damaged)
  • Distance: Hold your device 6-12 inches away from the code
  • Focus: Keep the code centered in the scanner frame
  • Stability: Hold your device steady while scanning

If the scanner won't focus, try cleaning your camera lens or adjusting the distance.

Real Situations

Geofence (Location-Based)

When to use: Automatic check-ins when you arrive at a specific location. Your manager sets up the boundaries.

How to Do It

  1. Open geofence check-in
Tap Attendance in the menu, then choose Geofence.

  2. Allow location access
When prompted, allow the app to use your location. This is only used for check-in verification.

  3. Enter the zone
When you arrive at your workplace, the app detects you're in the zone and shows a prompt.

  4. Tap Check In
When you see the prompt, tap the button to confirm your check-in.

  5. See confirmation
You'll get a success message and your check-in is recorded.

What Happens Next

  • Your check-in time is saved when you tap the button
  • You'll see a confirmation message
  • Your dashboard updates to show you're checked in
  • If you're outside the zone, you'll see a warning

GPS Accuracy Requirements
For geofence check-in to work:

  • Your device needs GPS signal (works better outdoors)
  • Location accuracy should be within 10-20 meters
  • You must be physically inside the drawn boundary
  • Location services must be enabled

If you're indoors or in an area with poor GPS signal, the system might not detect you're in the zone. Try moving closer to a window or going outside briefly.
