Settings and privacy
The settings dialog, face check-in enrollment, display options, and your privacy controls for data, cookies, and account deletion.
Your settings live in two places: the Settings dialog from the sidebar footer, and dedicated pages for face enrollment and privacy.
The Settings dialog
Choosing Settings in the sidebar footer opens a dialog with tabs instead of sending you to a page:
| Tab | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Profile | Your personal details and avatar. |
| Security | Password and account security options. |
| Display | Language (English or Arabic) and theme (light or dark). |
| Notifications | What Sharkforce notifies you about. |
| Mako | Preferences for the AI assistant. |
| Organization | Shown to admins only; organization-level settings. |
Language and theme apply everywhere at once, including the mobile app and a fully mirrored right-to-left layout in Arabic.
Display settings
The Display settings ("Choose how times are shown across your dashboard") include:
- Time format: switch between 24-hour and 12-hour display.
- Timezone: Auto-detect picks up your timezone automatically, or turn it off and pick one manually from the selector. A Current readout shows what is in effect.
Face check-in enrollment
Face ID in the sidebar opens Set Up Face Check-in, where you enroll the facial reference used for face check-in:
- Open Face ID and choose Start Setup.
- Position your face in the frame in good light and follow the prompts.
- Save. "Face reference saved successfully!" From then on, face check-in verifies you against this reference.
The status card shows whether You are set up or You are not set up, the Set up on date, and a View Setup Photo option. From here you can Update Setup or Delete Setup (with a confirmation: "Are you sure you want to delete your face check-in setup?").
Setup attempts are limited per month: a counter shows your Attempts used, how many attempts left this month, and when they reset. When you are out, it says "No attempts left this month" or "You have no update attempts left this cycle."
When to update your setup
The page lists the cases where re-enrolling helps recognition:
- Recognition issues: frequent failures even in good light, inconsistent recognition, slow check-ins, or errors during attempts.
- Appearance changes: a major haircut, new or removed facial hair, significant weight change, starting or stopping wearing glasses, or other facial changes.
- Periodic refresh: every 6-12 months, after long non-use, or when you notice accuracy drift.
Tips for a good capture: update in the same lighting you will check in under, face a bright light, center your face, remove sunglasses and masks, keep the lens clean, and use a stable connection.
Whether you can delete or re-do your enrollment depends on your admin's settings under Check-in (they can allow or block user deletion and re-setup, and every change is logged in the audit trail). If face check-in is off for your org, the page says "Face check-in setup is not enabled for your organization."
Privacy & Data Settings
The Privacy & Data Settings page ("Manage your privacy preferences, data export, and account settings") covers four areas:
- Data Export: "Download a copy of all your personal data stored in our system" with Export My Data.
- Consent Management: manage your cookie preferences and data-processing consent.
- Legal Information: links to the Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Cookie Policy.
- Account Deletion: request permanent deletion of your account and data. It requires organization approval and cannot be undone; the form asks for a reason, and the notice explains that "Account deletion in enterprise systems requires approval from your organization's administrator."
Face enrollment is biometric data. Sharkforce only uses it to verify you at check-in, and deletion rules are set by your organization, not assumed.
